Wake sheriff's detectives continue to question people who know Estes, but detectives didn't search for him Saturday. Deputies and volunteers searched a four-square-mile area along Camp Kanata Road last week but found no physical leads on the site to explain his absence. Estes, 42, left his home on Pleasant Union Church Road last Sunday. He drove to property his father owns just west Wake Forest, abandoned the car and disappeared. Man shot during domestic dispute in serious condition RALEIGH A man was shot in the head during a domestic argument Saturday evening at a house in Heritage Park, police said. The man, who was not from Raleigh and whose identity was not released because his relatives had not been notified, was listed in serious but stable condition at Wake Medical Center on Saturday night, said Capt. B.W. Peoples of Raleigh police. Several witnesses saw the shooting in a house at 410 Dorothea Drive about 6 p.m., Peoples said.
Police drew up a warrant for a male suspect Saturday night, but had made no arrest. Small plane loses power CLAYTON A small plane carrying two Raleigh men lost power and landed in a field near Clayton on Saturday. Pilot Stanley P. Rosen, 22, of 649 Bashford Road, and passenger Russell Stuart Gantman, 24, of 1301 Wagram Court, were not injured, said Sgt. Doug Booth of the state Highway Patrol.
Gantman is a student at N.C. State University. The two men were flying from Kitty Hawk to Raleigh at about 4,500 feet when the plane lost power, Booth said. They landed in a field six miles east of Clayton, near N.C. 42, he said.
The plane, a Cessna 150, was not damaged..
