The golden tench is a very rare equippable fish obtained from aerial fishing at Lake Molch, caught at a rate of 1/20,000.[1] When a player receives the tench, a message in the chatbox will state: The cormorant has brought you a very strange tench.
Equipping the golden tench allows players to 'Whack' other players like the rubber chicken does, but cannot be fumbled like it, and thus is never forcefully dropped on the ground. It can also be stored in a magic wardrobe within a player-owned house costume room. Multiple golden tenches can be kept at a time.
Unlike other catches in Lake Molch, the golden tench cannot be cut using a knife. However, players can speak to Alry the Angler to exchange it for 100 Molch pearls.
Rada's blessing and spirit flakes are reported by Jagex Moderators not to provide an extra golden tench.[2][3] However, players have reported this to occur, likely due to a bug.[4]
